Gospel Singer Kobby Isaac Contemplates Switching To Secular Music

Gospel singer Kobby Isaac has made a compelling social media post that has left his fans uncertain about his career.

The gospel minister expressed satisfaction with why some gospel singers transition to secular music in a social media post.

According to Kobby Isaac, he has come to the realization of why some gospel musicians switch to secular music, citing Kuame Eugene, who left gospel music to perform secular songs.

“I now understand why some gospel artistes eventually switch to other genres, the journey isn’t easy. From Eugene Marfo to Kuami Eugene and beyond, we see the shifts,” he said on Facebook.

Speaking to The Eastern Web on what could have informed his statement, Kobby Isaac revealed that after witnessing Davido’s concert and looking at the logistics, he realized the lucrativeness and how secular musicians easily attract investors as compared to gospel singers.

“Well, I witnessed Davido’s concert and looking at the logistics putting together,” he told The Eastern Web.

Even though Kobby Isaac divulged that he has no intention of switching to secular music, he believes he can also make it to attract investors just like Joe Mettle, MOG Music, and other successful gospel performers in Ghana.

Interviewer: “That’s a well-informed sentiment. Looking at the exploits of the average secular musician and comparing them to the gospel singers on this side, you are not wrong so far as business is concerned. I suspect, one day you will switch…”

Kobby Isaac: “No, I don’t have the plans to switch. If the likes of Joe Mettle, MoG, etc are doing their then I have to emulate them and not give up on the gospel.”
